For the trail, the fortress is treated as one combined exhibition object. The trail experience covers the history – and stories – of the various structures, and visitors are able to actively embark on a journey of discovery, finding hidden details and answering quiz questions. The fortress experience package consists of the following components:
Visitor orientation system: with decentral nodes and signposting for the entrances to the exhibition areas.
Information system: on three levels comprising introductory texts to the thematic zones, information on the various structures, and info boards presenting special items and exciting details.
Audioguide: in four languages providing introductions to the thematic zones and to the history of the fortress and the individual structures.
Interactive tour: with stations developed in keeping with the “experience with all the senses” motto and a focus on families with children to ensure that the narrative is as lively as possible throughout.
The digital fortress rally − a dedicated quiz app to guide visitors through the fortress – is currently under development.
The Kufstein Fortress Trail constitutes one area in the implementation of the Kufstein Fortress master plan.
