Domberg Freising, the spiritual centre of the archdiocese of Munich and Freising, is in a phase of further development and redesign. An overall visitor concept is to be developed serving as a guideline for the entire area, which includes the cathedral, the cathedral library, the diocesan museum and the Kardinal-Doepfner-Haus education centre.
Working as a team, bogner.cc and happarchitecture won the invited competition. The concept paper they developed contains suggestions and recommendations that are to create a basis and guideline for subprojects as well as providing a framework for the whole project. The aim is for the institutions of the Domberg to be perceived as a unit, to create better accessibility and to make orientation easier.
