HISTORY AND COMPANY STRUCTURE

Founded by Dieter Bogner in 1994, bogner.cc has become nationally and internationally renowned for its expertise in museum planning and exhibition conception. After working closely with Dieter Bogner for ten years, Katharina Knoll became a company partner on January 1st 2017, after holding the position of manager for several years. At the same time, the office was renamed bogner.knoll to highlight this forward-thinking business decision.

Katharina Knoll

Business economist, cultural manager, museum and exhibition planner, project manager
After studying economics, Katharina Knoll specialized in PR & marketing, sponsoring and event dramaturgy. In 1999 she founded the company K3 Kommunikation - Projektmanagement and expanded her activities to include the conception, organisation and marketing of exhibitions and cultural projects, thus developing a holistic approach to project work from the initial idea to implementation and communication. Her clients included the Vienna municipal authority, the Augarten Vienna Porcelain Manufactory, the Austrian Society for Architecture and the Viennale film festival. The museum concept developed jointly with Dieter Bogner for the Contemporary Art Museum in Chengdu (China) led to further projects with bogner.cc. As the company’s managing director, she acquired, developed and implemented national and international cultural and museum projects from 2010 onwards. In 2017 she became co-owner and since 2021 she is the sole owner of bogner.knoll.

Dieter Bogner

Art historian, university lecturer, museum planner, exhibition curator
In 1989, Dieter Bogner developed the concept for the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna and from 1990 to 1994, he was CEO of the Museumsquartier Errichtungs- und Betriebsgesellschaft Vienna. In 1994, he founded bogner.cultural consulting (bogner.cc), an internationally active company dedicated to developing museum concepts and master plans as well as curating new displays of collections and international exhibitions. Bogner founded the Austrian Frederick and Lillian Kiesler Private Foundation in 1997, acting as president until 2012.  He has been a member of the Board of Trustees at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York since 1995. Bogner habilitated at the Department of Art History at the University of Vienna and is the author of numerous publications on architecture and modern art. Together with Gertraud Bogner, he manages the Kunstraum Buchberg at Schloss Buchberg am Kamp (Lower Austria).

Karin Jaschke

Project assistant
Karin Jaschke studied history and art education in Vienna and completed a master's degree in museology in Barcelona. After a internship at the Dia Art Foundation in New York, she worked as a curator at the Taxispalais Kunsthalle Tirol, conceived independent exhibition projects and was head of public relations at the Vienna Secession. Since May 2022 she supports the team of bogner.knoll in various projects.

Julia Kubasiak

Project assistant (Maternity leave)
Julia Kubasiak (née Kling) holds a bachelor degree in English Literature and European History from the Universities of Bayreuth and Chester and completed her master‘s degree in History and Cultural Studies within the framework of „East-West-Studies“ at the University of Regensburg. From 2016 to 2018 she worked as a curatorial assistant at the Historical Museum of the Palatinate in Speyer. Since May 2018 Julia is part of the bogner.knoll team.

Sophie Wratzfeld

Project assistant (until February 2024)
Sophie Wratzfeld studied Art History at the University of Vienna and Fine and Decorative Art & Design at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. In the course of her position as research assistant at the Lab for Cognitive Research in Art History she gained experience in the fields of museology and visitor experience and accompanied the research projects "Belvedere Before and After" as well as "Right to Museum". Since January 2022, she has supported bogner.knoll in various projects and in administration. From February 2024, she will be devoting herself to new professional challenges in the field of modern and contemporary art.

Marlene Adam

Project assistant
Marlene Adam completed her Bachelor's degree in the interdisciplinary program Cultural Engineering in Magdeburg in 2021 and is currently finishing her Master's degree at TU Braunschweig. Her academic focus is the history of technology and science. She has been working in (university) collections management since 2018 and gained practical experience in the museum sector as part of her thesis and various internships. Since February 2024, she supports bogner.knoll in various projects and in the office.

We develop our historical and contemporary questions and topics by critically assessing the events of today. To do this, we make use of a network of professional company partners. Depending on project requirements, we work with architects, graphic designers, designers, media specialists and technicians to ensure an efficient focused overall planning and implementation.
