The NCCA in Moscow shall become Russia’s leading institution for contemporary art, culture and creative arts, and move to a new building at the location Khodynskoe Pole. It will address a broad public spectrum with a diverse range of permanent as well as temporary exhibitions, lectures, symposia, concerts and performances. Space for studios, educational establishments for artists, shops and a restaurant are also planned.
Dieter Bogner was selected as a member of the international jury (which included, among others: Bart de Baere/Director of the Museum of Modern Art in Antwerp, Manuel Borja-Villel/Director of Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and Giovanna Carnevali/Director of the Mies van der Rohe Foundation in Spain). Three architects reached the final round of the competition: Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos (Spain), MEL (Russia) and Heneghan Peng Architects (Ireland), who were eventually awarded the 1st prize.
