As part of the museum master plan, which bogner.cc created for the Universalmuseum Joanneum, it was planned to redesign both collection areas at Schloss Stainz–the hunting museum and the agriculture museum. bogner.cc was responsible for the conceptual development of content, the development of a spatial and functional programme and for the supervision of implementation, including the production of exhibition texts, at both museums.
One highlight of the agricultural collection consists of the models of modern agricultural machines based on originals, which the founder of the Joanneum, Archduke Johann, had made to encourage the industrialisation of Styrian agriculture and make farmers’ work easier. Taking this thematic focus, the new exhibition displays concentrates on the tension between preindustrial and industrial production and their consequences for today. Cultural and historical questions, interactive media and a focused presentation of objects complement each other to communicate a differentiated picture between romanticism and reality.
