The BMW plant in Steyr is the largest engine plant in the BMW group, standing out due to its position as a company-wide competence centre for diesel engines.
When designing the “drehmomente” exhibition at the BMW engine plant in Steyr, bogner.cc focused on the plant’s aim to establish a main attraction for the Upper Austrian “Land der Haemmer” provincial exhibition. Subsequently, the company wished to professionalise visitor support and mediation work on the premises.
This exhibition focused on contemporary industrial production, giving visitors the opportunity to smell, hear and experience the automotive industry, as they gained an insight into engine production and research. The object-related and historical narration was combined with media stations to encourage visitors to interact and focus on current issues.
The commission also included the creation of publications and advertisement materials as well as the training of staff for the mediation programme.
“drehmomente” was visited by 80,000 people, making it the most successful outpost of the Upper Austrian provincial exhibition. The project was nominated for the 1998 Austrian PR Prize, taking 2nd place.
