The reorganisation of the museum collections of the State Museum in Kassel is one of the key elements in the further development of the museological analysis of museological expertise “Kassel’s museum landscape” drawn up by bogner.cc in 2004/2005. The detailed concept was developed in close cooperation with the museum team and the exhibition design was undertaken by hg merz architekten museumsgestalter Stuttgart. bogner.cc developed a narrative that did not simply reflect the exhibition collection, but followed a thematic concept. The three main themes–prehistoric settlements, culture and history, and the economic area of North Hessen–are examined on three exhibition floors. The culture and history space focuses on questions of identity, territory, the social history of Hessian towns, questions of faith, the promotion of economic development under absolutism, civil movements and a contemporary reflection of the 20th century up to reunification.
