The Zwinger in Dresden is one of the greatest baroque buildings in Germany and one of the most important sights of the city. It houses three outstanding state art collection museums: the Old Masters Picture Gallery, the Porcelain Collection and the Mathematics and Physics Salon.
As part of the gradual modernisation of the Old Masters Picture Gallery, bogner.cc was commissioned to analyse the current planning, looking into efficient accessibility for visitors from the outside spaces to the exhibition rooms. At the same time, visitor circulation and the development of the Old Masters Picture Gallery were to be considered, in terms of visitor-friendliness and visitor orientation or existing and possible connections to other attractions at the Zwinger.
A feasibility study was drawn up, including an analysis of the existing situation, followed by suggestions and recommendations for a future utilisation of the rooms, better visitor guidance and barrier-free accessibility to the Old Masters Picture Gallery.
