Brest-Litowsk Fortress was built in the 19th century and is one of the most visited sights in Belarus. This is primarily due to the monumental Soviet memorial commemorating the resistance against the first attack on Russia by German troops in 1941.
bogner.cc was commissioned to develop a content master plan for this historically important location. The 400 ha fortress grounds are to house a multifunctional museum, culture and leisure area for the local population and tourists; a place where memory, creativity and leisure come together to form a meaningful symbiosis. The comprehensive concept paper contains suggestions and recommendations for transnational mediation of history, for experiencing art and nature together with contemporary art, for cycle paths and walking routes, for spaces for the creative industry, as well as necessary measures in terms of visitor routing and visitor services.
