Commissioned by Errichtungsgesellschaft Zollverein Essen, which is responsible for the Zollverein World Heritage Site, bogner.cc developed a concept for a Ruhr Visitor Centre on levels 24–46 of the former coal washing plant.
Starting at the entrance, interactive models and media installations introduce visitors to the industry and culture of the Ruhr district. Visitors are then led through central parts of the decommissioned industrial complex to the upper terrace, which offers an impressive 360-degree view.
