Dieter Bogner has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York since 1995. The museum erected a new building on one of the most famous historic streets of Manhattan, the Bowery. As part of the Building Committee, Bogner took part in the selection of the architect team–Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa/S A N A A–and was involved in the museological planning.

With a net usable area of 6,000 m², the leading New York Museum of Contemporary Art has doubled its functional space.
