bogner.cc conceived the REGIONEUM in Naturparkzentrum Grottenhof (Grottenhof Nature Park Centre), situated in the South Styrian wine region, as a visitor centre and museum. On 1,000 m2 exhibition space, the new museum shows the diversity of culture and landscape in the region.
The exhibits are interpreted using innovative mediation methods and media technology to awaken visitors’ curiosity about the location. An 11-metre wide panorama wall shows impressive landscape images, interactive media tables introduce visitors to Hallstatt, Celtic and Roman archaeological sites and audio points tell stories about the region. A multi-touch children’s play table forms the centre of the exhibition and is the only one of its kind in Austria. Traditional photo albums in the so-called Steirische Stube provide an insight into the history of the region in the 20th century. Furthermore, one exhibition room is dedicated to world traveller and researcher Bruno Baumann from Kaindorf, showing parts of his collection of Asian and oceanic artistic and cultural objects in a yearly cycle.
