Covering an area of 10.000 m2, the Oberoesterreichische Landesmuseum (Upper Austrian state museum) provides extensive insight into the history of the nature, culture and art of Upper Austria. In the course of a required structural renovation and a technical modernisation, the historic palace building housing the Schlossmuseum shall be optimised from a climatic, safety and logistic perspective. bogner.knoll was commissioned to support the team of the Schlossmuseum in the development of a rough structural concept from an overall museological point of view.
The re-installation of the collections due to the renovation of the building offers the chance to deal with current and future issues of interaction and reception of artworks and cultural objects, and of history, art and cultural history. bogner.knoll devotes particular attention to the interrelation between museum guidelines, presentation concepts and mediation strategies and the necessary spatial, technical and logistic requirements.
