In the framework of the EU-sponsored project ViSIT, bogner.knoll was entrusted with working out the content and supporting the implementation of the subproject located at Kufstein Fortress. The aim was to give visitors to the “Fuchs Tower” – a historical gun tower from the 16th century – an understanding of the history of the fortress and of the surrounding region by means of multimedia installations.
With a spectacular immersive room installation on the ground floor, visitors are given the opportunity to dive directly into history: into the story of the fortress’s construction and its eventful past, characterised by frequent martial conflicts. On the upper floor, on the other hand, bogner.knoll has pursued a different approach: here the focus is upon the neighbourly relationships between Tyrol and Bavaria, which have also played an important role in Kufstein’s history for hundreds of years. An innovative telescope multimedia station enables the visitor to become active and to explore the closely intertwined history of the region between Inn, Salzach and Danube.
